LIMITING POTENTIAL

Fear is triumphing passion. Fear is triumphing our genuine happiness. Fear is triumphing courage! Some people are detrimentally stuck in the skin they're in, so afraid of change. Instead of living, they 'choose' to dwell in their ego. I don't mean conceitedness or the idea that they're better than anyone else. Ego as in the false self that's in charge of the wheel when we're sabotaging our happiness. For example, we think we don't deserve to follow our hearts and pursue an art career or other personal goals we have because it's not a "real job." -So we've heard. We're settling for realities that are way beneath what is available to us, because of fear.
Somehow we lost our sense of individuality. We have to wear the newest trend and follow the most recent fad. Our dreams are on the back burner because so and so would be disappointed if we didn't utilize our high G.P.A in another way. "The arts don't matter"- only smarts.
Direction isn't lead by our own heart but the opinions/fantasies of our family and society. Ego tells us we shouldn't move to another country because our friends will feel we abandoned them. Ego tells us to go the easy route and forget about the road less traveled by.
"Oftentimes, taking great leaps of faith is labeled as irresponsible, selfish, or insane (until you succeed of course, then you're brilliant). This is because watching someone else totally go for it can be incredibly upsetting to the person who's spent a lifetime building a solid case for why they themselves can't."
Again, society places these expectations in every aspect of our lives and we think we can't step outside the box.
At a young age, adults are already telling us to not color outside the lines, because it's not the "right way to do it." Creativity is becoming a limited teaching.
Everyone is so content in their comfort zone, belittling their endless potential.
WAKE UP TO REALITY-- USE YOUR MENTALITY AND QUIT HITTING THE SNOOZE BUTTON FOR GODS SAKE-- FOR YOUR SAKE.
We have an abundance of talents, each of us, that we've been blessed with.
We weren't made to all be the same, only to treat each other all the same
but that discussion I will save for another day.
